Team DRB: Last Year in Review and Resolutions
Review of Year and New Year’s Resolutions
The second-longest year ever, is finally over. As much as we’d like to pretend it never happened, it will likely be remembered as a year filled with historic events that have shaped the way we live today. Throughout this chaotic year, we are proud of our team members for consistently demonstrating resilience, flexibility, gratitude, and most importantly COMPASSION.
As we start a brand new year, it’s time to reflect on the past twelve months and resolve to do better.
We want to maintain an encouraging environment so all members of our team can learn and grow together. Our resolution is going to bring us one step closer to that goal.
We want our team members to be successful, and part of that is giving them the tools they need for success. The more knowledge we share, the stronger we become as a whole. We also support and encourage team member’s individual goals and New Year’s resolutions: from making healthier choices to finally tackling long-term goals, we are standing behind our team DRB members and have confidence that with hard work and ambition, they will accomplish the goals they’ve set for themselves.
Last but certainly not least, we’re going to look after ourselves and each other. The pace of change has been rapid over the last year and sometimes it’s hard to keep up. We want everyone to feel supported and valued so they can continue giving their best, long into the future. We feel confident that by focusing on our resolutions, we will be a stronger team for the new year. We hope you’ll join us, and we want to wish everyone a happy and healthy year! What are your New Year’s resolutions? – One DRB team member said that one of their new year’s resolutions is to have less phone screen time and more book time.
Here is a look back at some of the special times and memories:
Work from Home
The past few years, the United States government declaring a state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic, DRB Capital shifted to working from home to protect our employees and practice social distancing. This did not stop us from laughing and sharing good times over video chat.
Women’s Month
We at DRB Capital wanted to do something special. We decided to partner up with Palm’s Birth House, a practice in Delray Beach which offers assistance in natural birth with the help of midwives.
We provided the passionate, hardworking and caring midwifes and staff a delicious lunch from their favorite spot, PureGreens.
A local senior care home was provided with lunch
To express our admiration, appreciation, and support, we provided the facility with a delicious meal from the employees’ favorite lunch spot, Pollo Tropical.
#MajorMissing Zoom meetings and Teams
We gathered through Zoom in large meetings and smaller teams. We had team challenges and team competitions. DRB teams had fun and got to know each other a little bit more.
Independence Day
TeamDRB members wore their most patriotic gear and a prize was awarded to the most creatively dressed individual!
Boca Helping Hands food donations
We donated food to feed those in need. Our donation was able to feed a full shift at dinner time. Hundreds of servings were given out.
Thanksgiving Meals
DRB Capital supplied 180+ Thanksgiving meals recently that included whole basted turkey or spiral sliced ham with potatoes, other sides, and pumpkin pie dessert to families.
Toys for Tots
Our team took the time to donate lots of toys to children in need via the Toys for Tots virtual toy drive as well as local toy drives. By simply selecting a child’s age and toys on www.toysfortots.com , each donation got distributed throughout the country to children who needed it most. Everyone was excited to participate in the virtual toy drive and toys were donated collectively.

The holiday season is upon us once again, and here at DRB, our team wants to wish everyone a joyous, peaceful holiday and happy new year. We truly hope that you get the opportunity to spend time with your family, friends, and loved ones, and that you’ll create wonderful memories for years to come.
Here at DRB, we have had to change the way we approach the holiday season, too. In the past, we have collectively come together as a team to help out organizations that are dear to our hearts, such as Toys for Tots and Boca Helping Hands. In many past years, we have donated a large amount of food to Boca Helping Hands just before Christmas and the December holiday break. While we are still maintaining a virtual work environment and unable to participate in these charitable activities as a group and in person, we want to thank the DRB team members who have taken the initiative to volunteer on their own and help those in need.
While we look forward to one day being able to celebrate the holidays the way we once did, we have learned to adapt to the current times we are in and make the best of things. Instead of focusing on what we are without and what’s different, we are instead choosing to be grateful for who and what we do have.
These past two years have been challenging, to say the least, and the way we have approached the holiday season has changed quite a bit as well. At DRB, we recognize that now more than ever, it is important to take the time this Thanksgiving to express gratitude. As we slowly begin to return to some of the normal celebrations that we’ve been so accustomed to in a pre-pandemic world, we can all recognize just how fortunate we are to be able to celebrate in-person again with some of our beloved friends and family members. For many of us, this holiday season was an extra special time, where we reunited with loved ones for the first time in a long time.
Alas, things are still not quite where they once were, but we know they will be again one day. Until then, we are doing what we can to contribute, volunteer, and spread some Thanksgiving cheer.
DRB Capital supplied 180 Thanksgiving meals that included whole-basted turkey or spiral sliced ham with potatoes, other sides, and pumpkin pie dessert to families. Although many of us still remain virtual and can only reminisce on our in-person food drives and in-office potlucks, we wanted to take the time to recognize the selfless acts and traditions DRB team members have carried on.
We want to thank the DRB team members who took the initiative to donate canned goods and food to families in need; we truly appreciate the kind-hearted individuals we have the privilege to work with each and every day. We want to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
The first holiday of the fall season is also a favorite for Team DRB, Halloween! The days of trick-or-treating for neighborhood kids may be temporarily put on hold due to COVID-19, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. Although kids may not be able to show off their costumes to the full extent, there’s still plenty to do with close friends or family. From visiting pumpkin patches, to apple picking and going to haunted houses, there’s still room for celebration for kids and adults to partake in.

We learn something new every single day whether we realize it or not. September is Self Improvement Month and encourages us to make the conscious effort to improve ourselves and our daily lives. Self improvement has a different meaning for everyone and a different path depending on the goals we set.
There are tons of books, podcasts and videos to help us improve ourselves. They can help us achieve the goals listed above and thousands more.

On August 21st, National Senior Citizens Day recognizes the accomplishments of the elderly of our nation. This special day gives us the opportunity to show our appreciation for their dedication, achievements and services they have given over time.
To demonstrate our support, we provided each associate with a delicious lunch from their favorite lunch spot. They all truly enjoyed their meal and were very grateful for the gesture.
