On April 22 of every year, people worldwide gather to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Whether it’s taking a simple stroll by the beach to enjoy the views our planet has to offer, cleaning up plastics in our neighborhoods, switching our harmful household products for biodegradable ones or planting a tree, there are plenty of ways to show our appreciation for our beautiful Earth.

To celebrate Earth Day’s 51^st anniversary, TeamDRB members were excited to show our planet their admiration and appreciation by cleaning up litter in our neighborhoods. Although it is just a small step in getting rid of the tons litter that has accumulated around the world, it felt great to take care of our planet and give back.

We are always seeking to learn more on how we and others can make a positive impact on our planet. We were extremely impressed and excited to discover the company, 4Ocean. Founded in our neighboring Boca Raton, 4Ocean sells bracelets and apparel made mostly from recycled materials. This awesome company uses a portion of their profits to remove one pound of trash from ocean and coastlines with each bracelet that is sold.

We are extremely inspired and look forward to making more positive changes to strive to protect our planet, not only on Earth Day but everyday.

Women’s History Month is an annual declared month that highlights the accomplishments of women in history and society. It is celebrated during March in the United States, UK and Australia. Although figures such as Harriet Tubman, Amelia Earhart or Margaret Thatcher are often associated with this particular month, there are countless extraordinary women who have earned and continue to earn their place at the table.

In honor of this monumental month and our admiration for not only our women team members but women all around the world, we at DRB Capital wanted to do something special. We decided to partner up with Palm’s Birth House, a practice in Delray Beach which offers assistance in natural birth with the help of midwives.

We provided the passionate, hardworking and caring midwifes a delicious lunch from their favorite spot, PureGreens. The ladies got to indulge in an assortment of wraps and acai bowls. In exchange, we got the opportunity to learn more about the beautiful process of natural birth, the long and hard dedication of midwives and the extended comprehensive care that goes into this process. We are grateful for the opportunity to expand our knowledge and look forward to giving back to women, not only this month, but for the rest of the year.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

As February comes around, let’s look back on the last several Valentine’s days with TeamDRB.

Last year, we partnered up with Boca Helping Hands to give away a few hundred special gifts. Our TeamDRB members prepared vases with roses and candy. This gesture was welcomed with big smiles and excitement by everyone.

In 2019, our TeamDRB celebrated Valentine’s Day by visiting some very special guests at Artis Senior Living of Boca Raton. DRB team members stopped by to hand out some treats, gifts, and Valentine’s Day-themed items for all the senior residents including chocolates, balloons, candy and flowers. We were truly honored to be invited to Artis Senior Living of Boca Raton for this event and take part in this special day.

With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we were unable to plan an outing this year. However if there’s one thing we know here at DRB Capital is that the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach. This year, instead of going out to a restaurant, why not make a special Valentine’s Day meal for your loved one?

Review of 2020

The longest year ever, 2020, is finally over. As much as we’d like to pretend it never happened, 2020 will likely be remembered as year filled with historic events that have shaped the way we live today. Throughout this chaotic year, we are proud of our team members for consistently demonstrating resilience, flexibility, gratitude but most importantly COMPASSION.

Here is a look back of all the special times and memories of 2020:

Valentine’s Day
Our DRB team members prepared vases with roses and candy bags to hand out during the Boca Helping Hands lunch hour. This gesture was welcomed with big smiles and excitement by everyone.

Work from Home
With the United States government declaring a state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic, DRB Capital shifted to working from home to protect our employees and practice social distancing. This did not stop us from laughing and sharing good times over video chat.

Artis Senior Living Lunch
To express our admiration, appreciation and support, we provided the facility with a beautiful heartfelt letter and a delicious meal from the employees’ favorite lunch spot, Pollo Tropical.

#MajorMissing Challenge
We asked some of our fellow team members to share some of the things they missed. The answers made us smile and gave us something to look forward to in the near future.

Independence Day
TeamDRB members wore their most patriotic gear and a prize was awarded to the most creatively dressed individual!

Bethesda Hospital East Lunch
Each frontline health worker was rewarded with a lunch box that contained a delicious sandwich or salad with an encouraging note.

Boca Helping Hands Holiday Meal Box Brigade
We filled thirteen boxes with an assortment of dinner essentials such as; stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables, fruits, cranberry sauce, yams, pie filling and pie crust. With this donation, each box was able to feed a family of five!

Thanksgiving Meals
We are delighted to have provided 33 families with a full Thanksgiving meal consisting of; a ham or turkey and two mouthwatering sides.

Another Artis Senior Living Lunch
We provided the facility with a delicious meal from the employees’ favorite lunch spot, Pollo Tropical. The employees got to enjoy chicken, fresh vegetables, rice and beans and salads.

Toys for Tots
Our team took the time to donate lots of toys to children in need via the Toys for Tots virtual toy drive. By simply selecting a child’s age and toys on www.toysfortots.com , each donation got distributed throughout the country to children who needed it most. Everyone was excited to participate in the virtual toy drive and hundreds of toys were donated collectively. To make things even better, DRB Capital MATCHED the total of our team member’s donations. 

Although our community outreach efforts are all year round, December is an extra special month for DRB Capital. We look forward to the end of the year to give back as much as possible to different causes that are dear to our hearts.

This time last year, our team members came together to deliver food to food banks and fill up toy boxes. However, this year, with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we had to do things a little differently to make sure all parties involved remained safe.

Nothing could stop our awesome team members from doing their part in helping our community. We are proud of our team for donating food to nonprofits such as Boca Helping Hands. MAJOR KUDOS to one team member for donating 65 pounds of food, thank you! Another team member sent a check to a local food bank.

Our team also took the time to donate lots of toys to children in need via the Toys for Tots virtual toy drive. By simply selecting a child’s age and toys on www.toysfortots.com , each donation gets distributed throughout the country to children who need it most.

Everyone was excited to participate in the virtual toy drive and hundreds of toys were donated collectively. To make things even better, DRB Capital MATCHED the total of our team member’s donations. We are delighted that children nationwide will get to enjoy fun toys such as basketballs, art sets, learning boards and Bluetooth speakers.

Despite a year of unprecedented challenges and uncertainty, our team members remained strong, stable and resilient. We unitedly worked together to bring happiness to those less fortunate and we look forward to a new year filled with even more generosity.
